Okay, let’s dive into another awesome event supporting our veterans! We’re talking about the “Swinging Fore Vets” tournament, put on by the great folks at Service for Service CT. This is more than just a day on the green; it’s a chance to honor, remember, and really make a difference for those who’ve served our country.
This tournament directly supports Honor Flight Connecticut, an amazing organization that helps send our World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. How cool is that?
The event is happening on May 9th, 2025, at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, CT. Things kick off bright and early with check-in at 7:00 AM, followed by an 8:30 AM shotgun start. You’ll play in a classic scramble format, enjoy a grab-and-go breakfast before you tee off, and there will even be on-course refreshments and fun contests like closest to the pin and longest drive. After the 18th hole, everyone gathers for a sit-down dinner and presentation. Their motto pretty much says it all: “Chip. Putt. Duff. Laugh. Donate.” It sounds like a perfect day to enjoy golf while giving back!
